I am Professor of Behavioural Science, and research theme lead for behavioural sciences and psychology, at Newcastle University.
I study a number of different topics relating to behaviour, cognition, society and health. I mainly study humans, but sometimes other animals (especially starlings) too. My main currently active research interests are:
- Origins and consequences of social inequality
- Trust, cooperation and antisocial behaviour
- Impacts of deprivation and adversity on the individual over the life course
- Hunger and eating
I will be a Visiting Professor at CEU Department of Cognitve Science in Fall term 2021/22 between September and December, 2021.
The PhD - level elective course I am going to teach is titled `From cognition to society: What can cognitive science contribute to understanding socioeconomic, political and cultural phenomena perspective. `
