I am an enthusiast of original narratives, which are based on simple but novel insights in- and outside academia. I believe that in order to understand the cognitive competencies and behavioral performance of humans and non-human species we need empirically testable concepts that go beyond our common-sense knowledge. I am designing behavioral, eye tracking and EEG experiments to investigate communication and high-level perception (e.g., agency detection or event segmentation) in human infants, adults and non-human animal species to reveal how we ascribe meaning to the communicative signals and behavior of others.
