On the evening of June 6th, the second meeting of the Vienna Network of Music and Cognition Research (ViNoMaRe) took place at Central European University (CEU) — and it was a resounding success.
Supported by the CEU Conferences and Academic Events Fund, the gathering brought together researchers, musicians, and students interested in the many intersections of music and cognitive science. The evening featured a dynamic mix of short presentations and informal discussion, all aimed at fostering exchange and collaboration across disciplines.
One of the highlights was a presentation on a collaboration that emerged directly from last year’s inaugural ViNoMaRe meeting — a wonderful sign of the network’s potential to spark ongoing research connections. Participants also showed strong enthusiasm for a lab tour of CEU’s Social Mind Center (SOMIC), reflecting a shared curiosity about the experimental and methodological spaces in which music and cognition research is conducted.
We’re grateful to all who participated and helped make this second ViNoMaRe meeting such a stimulating and welcoming occasion. We extend our sincere thanks to Central European University and the CEU Conferences and Academic Events Fund for their generous support in making this event possible.
