The focus of my research is how humans use cues from grammar to understand events. Using a creative combination of methods, I probe the event construals people form, showing that this linguistic guidance arises from deep-seated roots within grammatical regularities, with measurable impact on neural and behavioral signatures of processing. I am thrilled to join the Department of Cognitive Science at CEU, because I am looking forward to both further anchoring my work in cognitive science, and also, to leveraging the rich linguistic landscape in Austria for interesting new explorations on the interface of language and mind.

Eva does research on language and event comprehension.
