John studied philosophy at Wesleyan University (Connecticut, USA), then at the University of Tübingen (Germany), and completed his PhD at the University of Vienna in 2010. After working as a post.doc in cognitive science at Aarhus University and Copenhagen University (Denmark), he joined the SOMBY lab as a Marie Curie Research Fellow in 2014. He is currently an assistant professor at the Warwick University philosophy department and an affiliated researcher in the SOMBY lab. From 2016 onward, his research is supported by an ERC starting grant to investigate the sense of commitment in joint action.
