Gergely Csibra Elected to U.S. National Academy of Sciences

CEU Professor Gergely Csibra of the Cognitive Development Center and the Department of Cognitive Science has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) in the U.S. in recognition of his distinguished and continuing achievements in original research.

Csibra's research focuses on various aspects of cognitive development in human infants, including how infants understand actions, social interactions and mental states and how they interpret communication.

Csibra becomes one of just 475 foreign associates in the NAS, which has 2,290 active members. 

Foreign associates are nonvoting members of the Academy, with citizenship outside the United States.
